Frequently Asked Administrative Questions
Q. Are these activities safe?
A. When used without proper training and supervision, the various pieces of
equipment that we use can be dangerous. When used by those with the proper
training and supervision, circus arts are as safe, if not safer than any other
physical sport or activity.
Q. When is payment due for Outreach Programs?
A. In order to help us keep our fees low, payment is generally due when the
program starts
- For one time workshops, payment is due in full before the start of the
workshop.
- For multi-week sessions, payment is due in full by the third session
(arrangements can be made to accommodate school billing cycles.
A purchase Order may be required).
- For residencies programs and vacation / camp sessions, a 1/3 deposit is required
when booking the program, with the balance due the first day of the program.
- Significantly late payments (past week 4) may result in a stoppage of
work. Classes missed due to late payments will not be made up.
Q. What forms of payment do you accept?
A. Simply Circus accepts money orders, bank checks, business checks, cash
and school PO's (note: school PO's can not be accepted for COI requests). Simply
Circus does not accept credit cards.
Q. We need a Certificate Of Insurance (COI) for this program. Can you send us
one?
A. In order for us to obtain a COI for your facility, you need to fill out this
COI request form. This form must be filled out with blue ink and sent
to us, along with the current COI fee in order for us to process it. For calendar year
2007 the current COI
fee is $125.00.
Q. Can't you just send me a COI without this?
A. We are unable to start the COI process without the written request and
the COI fee. Once we receive this request form, we make a copy of it for
our records, and then
send the original, along with the COI fee to our insurance company, who then
sends you the COI directly. Because of this, Simply Circus CAN NOT
process any COI requests without a completed COI request form and payment of
the COI fee.
Q. How long will it take to receive the COI?
A. COI requests can take 30 days to process once
we receive the completed request and COI fee.
Q. Can this process be rushed?
A. Simply Circus has no way to rush the process.
Q. We did not request a COI before the program started, can we delay the
start of our program until we receive the COI?
A. Unfortunately scheduling issues prevent us from being able to delay the
start of a program at the last minute. If you need a COI, please make
sure to request a COI well before the start of your program.
Q. Is the COI fee covered in my class fee?
A. No, it is not. If a COI was specifically requested when you
booked the class, the COI fee will either be an additional line item on your
invoice, or it will be sent on a separate invoice. Please note
that even when this is included on your program invoice, we can not process
the request until we have received the completed COI request form and COI fee.
Q. I need a Risk Assessment (RA) for this program. Can you send me one?
A. We are able to send you a generic 4-column Risk Assessment for our
programs at no cost. Please
email us for a copy.
Q. I need this Risk Assessment to:
- Match our schools Risk Assessment
- Be in a particular format
- Be specific to this class and classroom
- Meet the special needs of a specific child
- Meet other specific criteria not met by the general
Risk Assessment
A. Our generic Risk Assessment should meet the needs of just about all
clients. If our standard RA does not meet your specific needs, we do have the
in-house ability to tailor a risk assessment to your individual needs, venue
and/or situation, including and up to a complete RA. Because customizing
a RA takes a good deal of administrative time, their is an extra cost for this
service. Please contact us for pricing
and availability. This often requires a site visit, and access to
additional information from the client.
